Description
Few people know it, but Joshua Tree National Park has only been considered as such since 1994, thanks to a law aimed at protecting Californian deserts. Covering an area of nearly 3000 square km (almost the size of the state of Rhode Island!), the park offers many hiking trails accessible from the campsite. The upper portion of the park (where the camp is located) is also in the Mojave Desert.
- 99 campsites
- Sanitary blocks with restrooms
- Dump station near the entrance
- Potable water
NB : This campground doesn't have sites with hookups and there are no showers. The nearest ones are in the town of Yucca Valley, 10 minutes away.
Location
Black Rock Canyon Campground, Twentynine Palms, (CA)
