Naturally, the summer is the best time to enjoy your RV rental. While it is possible from May 1 to October 31, we recommend travelling between mid-May and mid-October.
In any case, many tourist attractions and campsites have reduced hours outside of this time period.
Peak season for a U.S. RV road trip is from early July to Mid-August. RVs are in high demand at this time.
This means that availability is extremely limited. If you plan to travel in July or August, be sure to book your vehicle at least six months ahead of time. And the earlier you book, the better the price.
You should also be aware that there are many more travellers on the roads in July and August. For example, don't be surprised if you get stuck in traffic on California's legendary Highway 1!.
June and September are pleasant months for RV travel because the weather is good, there are fewer tourists and rental prices are more competitive.
Early October is relatively calm on the American west coast, as there are fewer tourists, making it easier to meet the locals. However, the nights can be quite cool.
Florida is an exception to these rules, as RV travel is enjoyable there all year round.
