Since I was young, I've always wanted to travel, to traverse long distances, to find myself elsewhere, to see what the world had to offer. There are so many different places on our planet that settling for just one throughout one's life made no sense to me.
So little by little, when I could, I started exploring our globe, as opportunities presented themselves: small trips with friends in Europe (Serbia, Bosnia, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Spain, etc.), a short stay in New York and New Orleans, a bigger trip to Japan with my brother (what an incredible memory), and even solo backpacking in Mexico.
I finally decided to take on the Canadian adventure, leaving France and my "comfort zone" to settle in Montreal and truly live elsewhere for the long term. And what a good decision! I discovered a new territory (so rich), new people, a new culture, and there's still so much more to do. They say travel broadens the mind, but it's since I've been in Montreal that I finally understand this saying.

Happiness is only real when shared.

My Picks and Travel Tips

What is my favorite destination in the USA?

Unfortunately, I've only visited the "States" a little, apart from New York and New Orleans, but these two destinations were superb. I had long dreamed of diving into the heart of Jazz on Frenchman Street, dancing till dawn to the rhythm of Brass Bands, and it was a crazy experience! And for New York, what can be said that hasn't already been said... It's a city you MUST see at least once in your life. I already can't wait to go back to explore it further! A little tip: go cross the Brooklyn Bridge in the middle of the night, you can be absolutely alone, just you and the skyline of lit-up buildings: incredible.

A tip for your trip to the USA

A piece of advice that also applies to life in general: no preconceptions, build your own opinion. You will sometimes (often) be surprised by what you might discover.

What is my favorite season in the USA?

Having grown up under the sun of the South of France, I will somewhat biasedly say: summer. The warmth, the blue sky, everything drives me to go out and go on an adventure. But the other seasons, more marked here, are also very appreciable: the autumn colors, the brilliance of the snow in winter, the unfolding of nature in spring. No matter the season, the landscapes change but always remain incredible.

What souvenir to bring back from the United States?

Typical hot or BBQ sauce, the real ones, made in USA.

Don't forget to pack in your luggage:

Good walking shoes, a cap, and your desire to discover!

What is my dream trip?

Someday, I would like to tour Thai islands or the Caribbean, with turquoise lagoons and white sand, to the rhythm of the waves and the sun. Every day a new paradise, without rushing.
